Who's In Control?

I keep seeing posts promoting this idea that, "you are in control of your life. You control your happiness. You control your future. You control how things affect you. Your thoughts create your reality. You. Are. In. Control."
Believing that YOU are ultimately in control of your life puts an extreme amount of pressure on you, and it's disguised as "empowerment".
Believing you are ultimately in control of everything pertaining to you is really a lie dressed up as "personal development/self-improvement".
You don't need to take on that burdensome pressure of imagining everything depends on you.
Because 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 things go differently than you planned, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 they don't go your way, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 you are in a situation that is clearly out of your control, in comes the fear, worry, anxiety, anger, panic, stress, depression; emotional distress & unrest. Then you beat yourself up because you were supposed to have control of the outcomes.
We have all been there.
The thing is, you're 𝐍𝐎𝐓 in control of your life, and neither is anyone else…
Except God Himself.
The Sovereign Creator and Lord of the world.
The God who created you and sustains you is the only Sovereign, the only One in control of 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, including you.
Surrender to God's control is where you find peace.
You don't have to be in control. You're not called to be.
God alone holds that responsibility and right.
Psalm 89:11 says of God:
“The heavens are 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, and the earth is 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬; everything in the world is 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 —You created it all.”
Isaiah 43:13
“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of My hand. No one can undo what I have done.”
1 Chronicles 29:11-13 says:
“𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, O Lord, is the greatness and the 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over 𝙖𝙡𝙡. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over 𝙖𝙡𝙡, and in 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 hand is 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name.”
God rules over all, God is in control!
He promises to work all things out for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Give up control, stop imagining that everything depends on you.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”
Psalms 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in times of trouble.”
The words of Jesus (John 14:27):
“I am leaving you with a gift—𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩. And the peace I give is a gift the world 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
You will never find any lasting peace in imagining that everything depends on you.
True peace is only found in Jesus Christ.
God alone holds you and everything in His hands.
Why not go to Him when it feels like everything is falling apart, when you can't figure out why this “you're your own hero” narrative isn't working for you?
Why not yield control to the One who actually possesses it?
